Combining cutting-edge technology from computer vision, machine learning, and augmented reality visualization, Aegis Rider’s system acts as the motorcyclist's virtual assistant. It can, for example, adjust the depth of the displayed information or overlay an upcoming curve onto the road the driver sees, all without them having to shift their focus.
Augmented reality visualization enables a completely new, customizable user interface that optimally displays driving statistics, infotainment, and navigation to the rider. Aegis Rider ride-analytics help improve riding safety and ability by providing individual feedback to the motorcyclist.
From the business perspective, the company is optimizing and finalizing their AR-enabled helmet design. They have vastly improved both in terms of aesthetic and technical capacities over several prototyping stages and tens of thousands of kilometers of test driving on the road. Nexx, a world leader in helmet design, is offering early aid with helmet integration. The subsequent step will be to deploy the system for a specified use case with a strong B2B partner.
The company expects to have the product integration finalized by the end of 2022 and generate sales by 2023. Additionally, Aegis Rider has been in discussions with several racing OEMs to collaborate on brand-specific experiences and use cases, which can diversify the technology application and act as an additional distribution channel.
We believe the team can achieve their newly set goals and will be able to raise a larger seed round towards the end of 2023 to ramp up production and enter their growth stage. And that is why we did a follow-on investment.
