Shelter offers a “try-before-you-buy” approach and the flexibility of subscription. The company expects around half of rental clients will purchase the booths afterwards, significantly increasing gross profit per client. With the funds, Shelter is looking to increase its sales efforts and improve its product portfolio.
The Zurich based company has already attracted notable customers like IKEA and Axpo. Within only seven months Shelter has become one of the go-to players in Switzerland in the phone-booth sector. Moreover, the pipeline is looking strong with more than 65 deals.
We believe that Shelter offers quality products to fill a rising demand in office optimization. Offices that might be reluctant to invest high upfront costs are more likely to try Shelter.
Shelter is a spin-off of the Swiss Startup Factory (SSUF) by Christian Warken who is currently in the onboarding process of a co-founder. Christian will take over the CEO position and has proven himself very skillful in gaining the initial sales contracts.
The investment team of the Rookie Fund has therefore decided to proceed with an investment in Shelter.
