How generative AI will disrupt the video market

06.12.2022Jingling Tu

CLB Creative's app Supercreator addresses one of the major pain points for creators. It reduces the creation time of short videos from 2-5 hours to 5-10 minutes.

With the release of models like GPT-3, Stability AI and DALL-E, generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) has reached the commercial readiness to bring paradigm shifts in various industries. For example, Jasper has become a unicorn leveraging GPT-3 in the copywriting field. Similarly, we believe that Supercreator will apply generative AI to disrupt the short video market.

By fine-tuning generative AI models with massive short video data and plugging-in other APIs/ SDKs (e.g. Snapchat CameraKit), CLB Creative's app Supercreator addresses one of the major pain points for creators. It reduces the creation time of short videos from 2-5 hours to 5-10 minutes. The app creates scenes, writes scripts, generates backgrounds, allows various visual effects and one-click distributions of short videos. This significant time reduction is game-changing for creators to improve their content frequency. It also removes the entry barrier for amateurs to become creators. CLB Creative Ltd. is currently raising its pre-seed financing round before launching their Supercreator app.

Supercreator has built a beta community and already has a waitlist of 2000 creators. The team will focus first on twitter creators that are not yet active on short-video platforms to convert their tweets/ threads into short videos. They will use a freemium model to build a creator community and plan to launch multi-user features to turn Supercreator into a short-video content marketplace. The app can also be used by teenagers/ hobbyists and SMEs (i.e. as a content marketing tool).

The Israeli company was co-founded by Roy Hermann, who has built 50+ apps with millions of downloads. He founded the Israeli version of Cameo: Kre8.tv, which has acquired 1000+ creators, 500k users and 100+ businesses. Roy holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Columbia University. The other co-founder is Tal Hacmon, also a serial entrepreneur and the owner of a digital lifestyle brand with 600k followers. Furthermore, the investors and advisors are from leading content, marketing and generative AI companies.

We believe that the co-founders have a very strong network and understanding of the creator economy, combined with solid knowledge of the generative AI technologies. Leveraging the support from their investors and advisors, Suprecreator has the potential to be a leading short-video creation tool, and even evolving into a content marketing solution or a short-video platform in the future. And that is why we invested in CLB Creative.
