Our new portfolio company BookingData uses airline booking and ticketing data, anonymizes them and delivers it to prospective hotels that can create custom and closed offers for specific kinds of travelers. Thus this platform gives power back to hotels and airlines and decrease their dependency on booking sites.
BookingData earns a commission on each booking.
The startup has fully developed its product and it has won Eurowings and one of Europe's biggest airlines as a flight data provider. Having covered its supply side, BookingData has recently launched its product and started selling the solution to hotels.
Airlines have many datapoints like age, origin or flight class that until now they were not able to use and commercialize. We see BookingData as a win-win solution for airlines and hotels. For the airlines it is zero effort and may represent an additional income stream.
Hotels on the other hand gain back power over their bookings and can customize their offers to travelers. Therefore, we believe that there is great incentive of both airlines and hotels to use BookingData’s platform. The German company on the other hand will be able to scale fast with limited resources. And that is why we invested in this startup.
